Common Admission Test
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a common entrance exam for admission to most of major Indian business schools. It is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and is considered as one of the toughest entrance exams world wide. Apart from the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Indore, and Kozhikode, over 100 other Management Institutes use the CAT for short listing candidates.

The exam is conducted once a year on the Third Sunday of November. Test is held in more than 20 cities around the country. Examinations centers are assigned to the candidates based on their preference.

The notifications for the exam start appearing in the national dailies around July every year. The forms can be bought from the bank designated by IIMs or the IIMs.
